I wandered away from my desk to grab some chinese food on the URI campus and attend a talk called "The E-Volution of Higher Education" (Thoughts about Higher Education and IT), presented by Richard N. Katz of EDUCAUSE. I'd post this in real-time, but I can't, because the room I'm in (Cherry Auditorium) seems to be pretty well-insulated (no GSM, no GPRS, no Wi-Fi; how often is it that I'm not bathed in some kind of microwave radiation? I'll enjoy it while it lasts).
There's a decent sized crowd here, started out at about 50, but seems to have grown to a bit more (75+) as the talk went on. Not bad at all for a Friday afternoon in Kingston.
