PPCW.NET: GPRS Internet via Bluetooth from Pocket PC 2002 using VoiceStream
The instructions are essentially the same for AT&T's service. Here are the differences:
- At least for me, the CID is 1 (your phone will tell you when you go through the steps in the HOWTO, so double-check).
- I didn't know the DNS addresses, but I knew they wouldn't be the same. So, I connected my Mac to the GPRS network, and looked in
/etc/resolv.conf to find two name servers: 10.250.1.10 and 10.250.1.11. If there's any doubt, call AT&T for tech support.
- For the phone number, I used
*99#, which I got by running strings on /Library/Modem Scripts/Ericsson GPRS CID1 and grepping for ATD.
And that's all there was to it!

Googling around for interesting Providence stories this morning. Here's one: Dog Door of Death: "I drank from that fountain one drunk night in 1991. It was about two weeks before another formative drunk night, when I watched Shepard Fairey deface the new 'Buddy' Cianci mayoral race billboard with a huge four foot Andre the Giant image."
Does anyone have a picture of that billboard? I have a memory of it running in the local paper, but I stupidly did not clip it. If no one has it, let's get a posse together to visit the archives in the University of Rhode Island library and find it. Is this one of those things that would be on some old roll of microfilm? I guess we'd have to get drunk after we found the photo.

The Mad Peck: "Providence, Rhode Island where it rains two days out of three except during the rainy season when it shows like a bitch..." I've had this poster on my wall for a while; you need one, too.
