Back home, drinking my own coffee
I had a great time at the Web Services DevCon. It was great to meet so many people I had only interacted with in blogspace. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet all the people in my neighborhood (not that all of them were there, but many were). I should have made a conscious effort to find as many as I could. But, there was so much going on, and this was one of the few conferences where I attended most of the sessions.
The exceptions were the talks at the end of each day; on Day 2, I had to catch a train. On Day 1, Chris and I tried unsuccessfully to get his laptop to talk to my T68i and get on the GPRS network using the Belkin Bluetooth adapter I had brought with me for that sort of thing. Chris: here's a link I found last night that might be of help. (Although I think he's going to look into a PCMCIA modem from AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon; something I can't do because I'm using an iBook, so the Bluetooth to T68i solution really is best for me.)
Anyhow, as I tell lots of folks, don't get me going about 2.5G/3G or gadgets, because I'll never stop. The point of this post was to say thanks, Chris, for hosting this event; it was a great time, even if it did require immense mental stamina (what does not kill me makes me stronger?).
