Whenever I visit New York, I like to find the latest issue of New York Press and read Maakies, my favorite comic strip.

After dinner, Rael and I strolled around the Village and SoHo: first heading east on Bleecker, then down into SoHo on Thompson, and finally west on Spring over to the Ear Inn for a quick pint. Then we returned down Spring and strolled up Avenue of the Americas so I could show Rael where Balducci's is, in case he got a craving for some good cheese. Although I absolutely love living in Rhode Island, I miss living in New York. So, on the occasional visit to the Big Apple, a good walk like that one does wonders.

I got together with a bunch of people and had a great Italian dinner last night at Monte's Trattoria on MacDougal Street. I'd forgotten how much I like the food there, and I'll have to keep it at the top of my list.

I got into the Wellington last night, and quickly settled in (which means checking email and updating my blog). The hotel is as I remember it; small but clean. The prices is right, too (I'm paying about $150 a night with tax).
