I'm on Amtrak Train 173 (Acela Regional) from Kingston, RI to New York City. On my way to the cafe car, I saw a lot of laptops. On my way back, I caught a glimpse of the screens and noticed that most people were watching DVDs (I saw only one Solitaire game). A DVD will usually run a laptop's battery down, but Amtrak has many power outlets, one more thing to keep in mind when deciding whether to fly between DC and Boston or take the train.
