Overheard
in New York: “It was so lame! It was full of bloggers!…Yeah, I
know!”
CNN.com:
“Comedian Lenny Bruce was granted a posthumous pardon by Gov. George
Pataki Tuesday for a nearly 40-year-old obscenity conviction prompted by
a foul-mouthed political commentary.” And from Lenny Bruce’s How to
Talk Dirty and Influence People: “What does it mean for a man to be
found obscene in New York City? This is the most sophisticated city in
the country. This is where they play Genet’s The Balcony. If
anyone is the first person to be found obscene in New York, he must feel
utterly depraved.”
I can’t remember where I came across this (weblog? Google search?), but I
added it to my aggregator the other day, and it makes for great reading
and a good source of mental notes for my next trip into the city: NYC EATS.
Scripting
News: “Another cool thing about driving to NY is when you get close
enough to see big green Interstate highway signs that say New York City.
For some reason I giggle when I see one.”
