The New England Wireless and
Steam Museum is holding their Original
Yankee Steam-Up this weekend. I’ve only been once, but it’s a lot of
fun. As far as I know, they have the wireless part of the museum open
as well during the Steam-Up.

Thursday, March 11th, 2004Rory and I have
been planning a nerd/geek dinner for this coming Friday (March 12) at
6:30pm. We’ve settled on the Providence Place Mall food court, and you’re all
invited. Apologies for the short notice, and we promise advance warning
next time!
Providence Place Mall food court. I’ve been to one of the Scoble-organized geek dinners at a food court, and it works
great for a number of reasons:
- No need for head count (scales really well)
- People can come whenever they want
- People can leave whenever they want (no waiting around for the check)
- Not a problem for out-of-work geeks
- People don’t feel that they have to eat; they can just get a coffee
- The center of attention is people, not food.
