Thanks for getting in touch, Jason!

Basically, we are looking at two DIY solutions right now, Fab@Home and RepRap. We are leaning toward RepRap at the moment because 1) it's the least expensive of the two and 2) I am editing a book about Personal Fabrication (3d scanning, printing, and sketching), and the author will be covering how to create a reprap in the book so I have access to his knowledge and instructions.

I don't think that a commercial 3d printer is in our future, though. The cost of DIY 3d printers is well under $2500, and the blobbiness of them is well within our tolerance. But if you have any offerings within our price range, or if you're looking for a great charitable contribution and high-value media exposure opportunity, please let me know!

I am a Value Added Reseller for ZCorp 3D printers covering New England and I would be very interested to learn more about how AS220 is looking to incorporate 3D printed. I would be happy to speak to you about ZCorps color 3D printing technology and offer any assistance if needed.

Thanks,
Jason Bassi
