High School Students Terrified by Drug War/DHS Lockdown

Last Friday, South Kingstown High School officials terrified students and parents by announcing a “code blue” lockdown. With teachers and students kept in the dark about the true nature of the lockdown, text messages and cell phone calls flew through the ether as people wondered whether an act of violence was in progress. It didn’t help that students were forced to huddle in a corner of the room while shades were drawn, doors were locked, and lights were turned off.

As it turns out, it was a combined homeland security drill/drug sweep (those two seem to go together like milk and cookies these days). The students were kept in a state of fear and uncertainty for 45 minutes while the police searched for their bounty.

Their catch? One joint.

The price? Terrified children who will be less trustful the next time they are told to do something to protect their own safety.

I’m hoping for a time when folks will realize that the state cannot protect them, and then all of this silliness will stop. Given the above:

    - The drug sweep won’t be necessary, because people will have some variety of freedom.

    - The pretext of safety will be dropped because everyone will realize it’s all bunk.

    Remember:
A 1911 and an AK will do better to protect you from Zombie hordes than the government will.
