T-Mobile Blocking Google or Google Blocking T-Mobile?

This is weird. I’m in Providence, connected to the Internet via T-Mobile EDGE (PowerBook to Treo via Bluetooth) and everything works just fine… except anything at google.com (including gmail.com). http://www.google.com/pda is the only google property that works. What’s stranger is that I can access these sites from my Treo’s browser fine, just not from any browser on my computer. I’m not the only one, and this has been going on for a long time. Yahoo works just fine, though. I wonder if there’s an easy way to load my gmail archive into Yahoo! mail?

I am having the same problem. How did you resolve it?

Sadly, I have not resolved this problem.

Lower your MTU to 1450 (utilities like DrTCP make it easier) for your RAS connections. Not sure why this works, but solved the problem for me on my GPRS connection in Providence.

If you are still having problems with Google when tehtered to laptop/computer ( as I have had for months), try flushing your DNS. Someone at T-mobile showed me this and whoohoo it works. Go to start menu and Run. In the box type cmd and then enter to bring up command prompt. At the blinking cursor type ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. Do this two or three time. Note that there is a space between ipconfig and the slash.

I did this and now Google here I am!
    Hope it works for others.
