Bluetruth

Monday, May 26th, 2003

Gizmodo:
“David Berlind exposes the truth about Bluetooth: that the wireless
standard just doesn’t work all that well when it comes to connecting
devices together.” My experiences have not been all bad. Generally,
if two devices don’t want to talk, I perform the pairing
from both ends. So, if I want my laptop to talk to my T68i, I’ll first
use the laptop to discover the phone and add it to the laptop’s paired
list, and then I’ll use the phone to discover the laptop and add it to
the phone’s paired list. Yes, there is an element of waving
a dead chicken
here, but after I do this, things usually Just Work.
